Old is New

This morning I thought about how so many of us are looking for the "new thing", ie new ways or concepts of how we can change the world... Then it hit me — the "new thing" is actually the "old truth(s)". We don't have to look very far. It's all — tried, tested and true — for generation after generation...
The world is changed by the LOVE of God — by mercy, grace & forgiveness. Through generosity and prayers, faith and action... and complete trust and confidence in Him Who is able... Not by might nor by power but by God's Spirit! Could it be that to look forward, we need to look back — not at our faults but His faithfulness? Could it be that the NEW that all of us are longing for is truly found in the OLD?! If this is true, then the good news is that none of us need to worry nor glory in our own wisdom but rather go back to the Word of God (how about the Book of Acts?!) where the New (testament)is really the Old (testament) revealed.
It's been written by the wisest man that ever lived — "There's nothing new under the sun..." So, instead of cracking our heads, let's bring back the old truths, live out time tested principles and claim the faithful promises of God (that have no expiry date)... and then stand in awe of His power to part (the) Red Sea(s), open blind eyes... and set captives free! The greatest Revolution is one of Love — God's love!! We're moving back to the old to experience the new! The "Old is New"! It's NOT rocket science — never meant to be.
